Meet at Levisham Station at 10.00 a.m. prompt – Parking is free and there are toilet facilities and tea/coffee available here prior to starting the walk. (We are meeting a bit earlier than usual so that people can get back to Leslies do on Saturday evening!)
Details This is a full day walk of about 7 miles. The terrain is hilly in parts but is suitable for most good walkers. There are great views including Newton Dale and Hole of Horcum.

The Kingdom Gathering on 5th May will be held at Kings Church Beverley (off Swinemoor Lane) at 7.30pm.

Jill Walker writes:

I would like to invite you to a ‘Kingdom Gathering’ meeting hosted by Martyn and Linda Smyth who are coming to our area on Saturday 5th of May. It is an opportunity for Christians in our area to come together to seek the Lord and to pray. Anyone is welcome to join us.

Martyn and Linda have been in full time ministry since the early 1980′s. Part of that time was spent working in two Anglican Churches where they saw exciting times of charismatic renewal and outreach. In 1987 God spoke to them about the importance of reaching the lost through church planting and so, after a time on the staff of the Vineyard in Fort Collins, Colorado, they planted Manchester Vineyard in September 1989. http://vinelifeuk.org/pages/martynandlinda
They have recently been hosting meetings in various places in the UK, as and when they have been led by the Lord, under the banner of ‘The Kingdom Gathering’ (see below).
Martyn writes: What is Kingdom Gathering?

Zechariah 10:8 “I will signal for them and gather them in. Surely I will redeem them; they will be as numerous as before.

The Kingdom Gathering centres on a singular guiding principle: believers congregating to seek the face of the Lord corporately for his purposes for the church. We are seeking to provide a safe canopy of discernment and protection of the Lord’s urposes. Our ultimate goal is that our nation will become a resting place for the glory of the Lord and he is looking for those who have laid down their lives to see this vision become a reality.

With this in mind, The Kingdom Gathering is a coming-together of those who are seeking the favour of the Lord to rest upon them as those who have fully yielded their lives to him, who desire to intimately know him and are willing to spend time in his presence. The result is a community of people who will be able to recognise God’s presence and will have understanding of his ways in these times. If these qualities are to become a reality in our lives, we must learn to wait upon the Lord so that his manifest presence comes into our midst.’

King’s Breakfast next Thursday

The next Kings Breakfast is nearly upon us – Thursday April 26th at 7am for a 7.15 start (finished by 8am). Last time, Bob Duerden introduced us to 16 Christian values that we can live out, with God’s strength, in our workplaces (www.christianvalues4schools.org.uk).
This time we have asked Rev. Neal Barnes to help us understand how to apply 2 more of those values – he has chosen “hope” and “humility”: so we will make time to pray for each others’ work situations and how God can help us to demonstrate these values. The other reason for asking Neal is that as vicar of Holy Trinity he is involved with lots of good things that are going on in that key part of the city (1000′s come by Trinity Square on Friday/Saturday nights) – so please come along to pray that God’s kingdom shines in all of that too.

We’ll meet again in Costa Coffee in the Town Centre (King Edward Street); last time many of you said that it really worked as a venue – and the staff were very happy with us being there.

So, even if you can’t come (and thanks to some “regulars” for letting us know already), please be an ambassador for this prayer effort in your church and invite someone to come and join in. You never know what you might find out – last time I prayed with someone who was going to be working on a children’s ward in the hospital that week: what a privilege to share in praying “Your kingdom come, Your will be done in that ward” – what might God do…?
