Discussion & Doughnuts (DADS)

Alternate Monday Evenings
Alex Iles
(Mens Group – bible study, discussion, banter, more biscuits than doughnuts these days!)

dads_grp01The DADS group averages 8-10 men meeting on alternate Monday evenings to have fellowship, study scripture and pray together. The group has proved to be a great support as some members encounter challenging and difficult times.

During the last year we have studied topics such as Stewardship and the book of Phillipians.
We are just in the process of planning what to study in the New Year.

As a group we have regular socials which normally incorporate food.
New members are always welcome so if you are interested in knowing more: speak to Alex Iles.

Tuesday Housegroup

Weekly Tuesday evenings
Emily Peach or Alison Cockerill

The Tuesday Housegroup is a little over a year old. Over the last twelve months we have been meeting weekly to study the bible, pray together and support each other. It’s been an exciting journey as we have got to know each other and God better. Prayer is particularly important to the group and we have prayed, walked with and loved each other through some challenging issues and also every day life. We have used several Bible Study resources and over the year have looked at “Names of God”, “The whole life for Christ”, Advent and “The Transforming Trinity”. We try to take it in turns to lead and have seen group members grow in confidence as they have a go.

Catching up group

Wednesday Evenings
Margaret Brown
(Bible study, discussion..)

We meet weekly on a Wednesday evening from 7.30 pm to ‘catch up’ with what God is doing and wants to do in our lives. We study the Bible using different mediums, the book itself, Bible study guides and DVD presentations as well as having special focus evenings of worship through prayer and music. We love food and so enjoy some light refreshments at the end of each evening and sometimes get together for meals.

Power of a praying Parent (PPP)

Alternate Thursday Evenings
Julia Peplow
(Womens Group – Friendship, bible study, prayer, occassional meals/pudding parties etc)

PPP is a growing group of ladies that like to talk. We usually meet on alternate Thursday evenings for chat, prayer and bible study (though we have had a few Friday night meetings this term). We also have the odd social evening usually involving food, such as a Chinese bring and share, an Italian bring and share and even a Pudding party (not good for the waistline!).

We have recently completed a series called “Unlocking the door – evangelism in the real world”. This is a book produced by an organisation called “Activate your Life” and earlier this year we enjoyed a great weekend away together at their annual conference. This included great teaching, worship, food and relaxation! Other recent studies have included “Boundaries with Kids”, John Ortbergs “The Me I want to be” and and DVD series about Heaven.

We are about to start (Nov ’14) our next series of studies based on the book “Captivating – Unveiling the mystery of a Woman’s Soul” by John and Stasi Eldredge. So if you are looking for a new group, now is a great time to join us.

 All Groups

All our groups enjoy the family aspect that these small communities develop, and we sometimes share a meal or social outing together as well as joining with another group.

Currently the Leadership Team are exploring the possibility of starting another small group so if you think you would like to be in at grass roots level then this might be the one for you.

Do speak to Karen in the office or one of the Leadership team who will introduce you to the leader of the group you might like to try. You are more than welcome to try them all!! We would love to see you enjoying, contributing and discovering your gifts, and so enriching our fellowship.
